We are seeking a friendly and organised Dental Receptionist to join our friendly and supportive team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This role requires a blend of administrative skills and a welcoming demeanor to create a positive experience for all patients.

Hours available weekdays, 8:30 – 5:30pm (zero hours contract) with holiday cover available. Saturday hours are also available but not essential for this role: 8:45am - 2:15pm alternate weekends.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist them with check-in procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the dental calendar efficiently.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, and insurance.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations.
  • Process patient payments and handle billing inquiries.
  • Coordinate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient flow throughout the day.
  • Assist in managing inventory of office supplies and dental materials as needed.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining a clean reception area.

Skills

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and staff.
  • Proficiency in office software applications, including word processing and spreadsheet tools.
  • Previous experience in an office or administrative role is advantageous, particularly within a healthcare setting.
