The Deluxe Group is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our growing team at our Head Office in Portadown. Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused procurement professional to play a key role in delivering the Company's procurement strategy, developing strategic supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services across our diverse portfolio of projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day procurement activities, ensuring the efficient sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment and services to meet project and operational requirements.
- Support the delivery and continuous improvement of the Company's procurement strategy, policies and procedures.
- Develop, negotiate and manage supplier relationships to achieve best value in quality, cost, delivery and service.
- Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers while maintaining and developing the Company's Preferred Supplier List.
- Raise, review and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times and delivery schedules, proactively resolving supply chain issues to minimise project disruption.
- Work closely with Project Managers and internal departments to forecast procurement requirements and support successful project delivery.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
- Maintain accurate procurement records using the Company's ERP and document management systems.
- Collaborate with the Finance Team to resolve pricing, invoicing and payment queries.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations and procurement best practice.
- Produce procurement reports and supplier performance information as required by the Head of Procurement.
The Ideal Candidate
- A minimum of 5 years' procurement or buying experience, ideally within manufacturing, construction, engineering or a project-based environment.
- A third-level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
- Strong commercial awareness with proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Experience managing multiple procurement priorities within fast-paced project environments.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using ERP or procurement systems.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
