We are seeking an experienced MRP Champion to lead the final stages of ERP/MRP implementation within a bespoke manufacturing and construction fit-out business. This is a hands-on role for a manufacturing professional who understands how ERP/MRP systems work in practice, not just in theory. You will take ownership of system adoption, ensure it is used to its full capability, and lead the change required to embed robust planning, control, and reporting across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- ERP / MRP Implementation Leadership
- Lead and own significant elements of ERP/MRP implementation, focusing on manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and cost control.
- Act as the primary interface with the ERP system developer, understanding system capability and translating this into effective operational use.
- Challenge and shape how the system is configured to best support a low-volume, bespoke manufacturing environment.
- Lead testing, refinement, and optimisation of MRP functionality.
- Ensure data integrity across BOMs, routings, lead times, stock parameters, and cost structures.
- Change Management & Training
- Lead organisational change required to embed ERP/MRP into day-to-day operations.
- Train and coach users at all levels, from shopfloor and warehouse teams to planners, buyers, and management.
- Develop clear processes, SOPs, and training materials to support consistent system use.
- Act as the go-to expert for ERP/MRP-related questions and problem-solving.
- Operational Integration
- Ensure ERP/MRP processes align with real operational workflows across: Purchasing and supplier management, Warehouse and inventory control, Manufacturing planning and execution, Cost reporting and operational performance tracking.
- Support improved material availability, production planning, and cost visibility.
- Ensure the system supports project-based manufacturing and construction fit-out delivery.
- Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain operational and management reporting.
- Use system data to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
- Support future system enhancements, upgrades, and process maturity.
Skills & Experience
- Essential
- Strong manufacturing background, preferably within low-volume, bespoke, or engineered-to-order manufacturing.
- Demonstrable experience leading significant elements of ERP/MRP implementation.
- Exposure to multiple ERP/MRP systems, with a strong understanding of core MRP principles.
- Operational knowledge of: Purchasing, Warehouse & inventory operations, Manufacturing processes, Cost reporting and operational finance.
- Proven ability to lead change and bring teams with you.
- Experience training system users at all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
- Desirable
- Experience within construction, fit-out, interiors, joinery, or similar project-led manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of SQL for data interrogation and validation.
- Experience using Crystal Reports or similar reporting tools.
- Exposure to ERP platforms such as EMAX, Project Plus, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, IFS, Epicor, NetSuite, or equivalent.
- Software development capability is not required; the focus is on operational application and system effectiveness.
Personal Attributes
- Credible, hands-on, and operationally grounded.
- Confident communicator who can engage both technical and non-technical users.
- Structured, analytical, and detail-focused.
- Solutions-oriented.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, project-driven business.
