Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and organised Transport/warehouse coordinator with strong administrative skills and Forklift licence to join our dynamic Logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the warehouse, receipting stock, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting daily warehouse operations. In addition to operating a forklift, the role requires a high level of administrative accuracy, including processing despatch documentation, updating stock and logistics systems, producing operational reports, and liaising with internal departments and external carriers. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, supporting production schedules, maintaining excellent housekeeping standards, and delivering a high level of service to both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate UK deliveries for Global Accounts, including both parcel and pallet, by working closely with the Production team to ensure completed jobs are organised by delivery locations, ready for despatch.
- Use handheld scanning devices to accurately record all parcels and pallets received for despatch and transfer the scanned data into the despatch management system to generate driver paperwork.
- Ensuring the safe loading of all parcels and pallets onto the delivery vehicles within scheduled collection times to ensure we meet our client Global SLAs.
- Ensuring that drivers are provided with accurate delivery paperwork.
- Monitor daily despatch volumes and liaise with carriers to upsize or reduce vehicle requirements in line with operational demand.
- Act as the primary point of contact for carriers regarding vehicle arrivals, driver issues, or delivery-related concerns, escalating operational issues to management where appropriate.
- Identify, investigate, and communicate any campaigns that are incomplete or not ready for despatch, ensuring Global account management team are informed promptly.
- Produce a daily despatch report for the morning operational meeting, detailing despatch volumes, discrepancies, delivery issues, non-delivery exceptions, and any other operational concerns requiring attention.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, carriers, Global Client account team, and internal departments to support excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
- Support the Delta Logistics operation as and when required, including assisting with continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve logistics processes, operational efficiency, and service performance.
- Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety policies, warehouse procedures, and quality standards always.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock counts, investigate discrepancies, and update stock records in a timely manner.
- Safely operate a forklift (where authorised) to move materials throughout the warehouse and between the D1, D2, and D3 production areas.
- Deliver raw materials to, and collect finished products from, printing and finishing machines to maintain production flow and schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse and external yard areas, ensuring they meet housekeeping, health and safety, and showroom presentation standards.
