Point to Point Trunking with no loading and unloading 40 Hour Contract – Guaranteed Monday to Friday approximately 8.00pm to 4.00am (requires some flexibility of start time) Up to £31,500 per annum A fantastic opportunity has arisen, due to our continued growth, we now have a permanent vacancy at our Warrington Hub for a night-time Trunk Driver (Class 1 C&E).The Delivery Group employs over 150 people within its UK wide transport team across 6 sites and operates a new modern fleet of predominately DAF vehicles. The trunk vehicles out of Warrington operate a nightly return route between two fixed points, either Warrington to Luton or Warrington to Bristol .A salary of up to £31,500 is paid plus additional overtime is available in addition to other employment benefits such as life insurance, company pension, referral program, training & development with career opportunities across the Group and free parking. All uniforms, PPE and mobile phones provided at no cost to you Main Duties: Reporting to the Transport Manager, the main responsibilities of the Trunk Driver are: Transportation and the safe delivery of Company and Customers products. No loading or unloading is required. Quick turnarounds are achieved at destination hub. Loads consist of mail and parcels. Working to specified plan, complete all yard activities to plan. Ensuring that trunking is completed on time to meet all deadlines. Complying with local legislative requirements and Company policies & procedures. Represent the Company in a professional manner. Work as a team with other Transport Drivers. Ensure that all vehicle Pre-Operational checks are completed to a very high standard before driving. Continuously exhibiting courteous and polite communication with all The Delivery Group employees. Ensure that all paperwork is completed clearly and submitted to the transport department at the end of each shift and provide a full debrief to the on duty transport co-ordinator. Report all defects immediately, once noticed. Ensure that loads are secured effectively and are within the weight limits. Comply with appropriate working time legislation. About you: You must have demonstrable previous experience as a Class 1 C&E Driver, with a sound knowledge of Road Transport Legislation. You should be able to understand the Companys Health & Safety procedures delivered in English, and you should be diligent with a keen eye for detail, ensuring that everyone complies with the Companys Health & Safety policy at all times. You should possess a calm temperament and be able to react calmly when things are not going according to plan. You need be passionate, driven and motivated to complete all tasks in the allotted timescales to the highest quality. Essential experience: Good interpersonal skills. Relevant regulated driving experience. Full knowledge and compliance of Road Transport Legislation. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. HGV Driving Experience.
