Main duties of the job:
- As a Bank Nurse you will support the nursing team with additional hours as needed.
- Your primary responsibilities include:
- Working in the ophthalmic clinic and ophthalmic theatre, ensuring adherence to all training protocols related to the ophthalmic service.
- Reviewing and assessing cataract patients, undertaking biometry, and acting as a registered scrub practitioner in the operating theatre.
- Performing duties by following established protocols and guidelines.
- Staying updated on all training requirements related to ophthalmic nursing practice.
- Providing other nursing duties as necessary and as relevant to the role.
- Collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records.
Requirements:
- Valid nursing qualification and current registration with the relevant regulatory body.
- Prior experience in ophthalmology nursing and evidence of continuous professional development.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to best practices in nursing care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
- Flexibility to work variable hours as needed.
