Orange Sky exists to support Australians who are facing challenges in their lives, including homelessness, financial hardship, limited access to laundry facilities or temporary displacement due to a natural disaster. Position Overview

As a Regional Coordinator, you’ll be the go‑to person for volunteer leaders, service partners and stakeholders, working behind the scenes to keep our mobile laundry and shower services running like clockwork. You’ll build relationships, drive new initiatives, and help us create even more positive connections in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships and manage volunteer leadership teams as the primary point of contact for your designated area.
  • Maintain the quality and consistency of service, safety and culture throughout the services in your designated region, including incident and risk management.
  • Manage and roll out new shifts and services.
  • Monitor volunteer satisfaction and develop programs to ensure a great experience.
  • Manage relationships with service providers, partner organisations, local councils, government, funders and other stakeholders to promote and grow the work of Orange Sky in your region.
  • Identify opportunities and gaps in service delivery and apply subject‑matter expertise to address these.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role within a fast‑paced environment, ideally in the not-for-profit sector and with a large volunteer base.
  • Moderate local and interstate travel (average 3–4 nights per month).
  • Experience running volunteer programs and/or leading teams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience in community or customer services.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a highly diverse range of people and manage a large and diverse workforce.
  • Well‑developed written skills, problem‑solving ability and agility to learn and use new systems.
  • Flexible availability to travel as required.
  • Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to manage complex and competing demands.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude and genuine passion for the cause.
  • Driver’s licence and willingness to drive the van to shift locations.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and systems.
