Nestled in the iconic Beetham Tower, this hotel features 279 elegantly designed rooms with stunning skyline views. As an Assistant Events Operations Manager reporting into the Head of C&B, your day-to-day will be driven by our Guests' needs, however you can expect to cover the following duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery and execution of the Conference & Banqueting strategy, ensuring smooth operations and high standards across all events.
- Support the management and organisation of the C&B team by ensuring adequate staffing coverage and effective coordination of a largely part-time team.
- Uphold IHG standards across all events while supporting the team through the transition to InterContinental - providing training and guidance where needed to ensure brand standards are consistently met.
- Collaborate closely with other Food & Beverage managers across the hotel to ensure alignment and cohesion across the wider F&B function.
- Lead the team in the absence of the Head of Conference & Banqueting, maintaining high levels of service and operational efficiency.
We are searching for a true service superstar, someone who thrives in providing our Guests with excellent service throughout their stay. In addition to this, we are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a large conference and banqueting environment - either as a team leader/supervisor or an assistant manager.
- Strong team leadership and organisational skills, particularly having experience with completing rotas in a largely part-time or flexible team.
- Proven ability to maintain brand standards and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments.
- Experience working within a branded property would be a bonus, as we are embarking on a transition to become an InterContinental branded 5-star property by 2027.
- Passion for C&B and flexibility in approach to ensure you are adapting your time and approach to each individual client's needs.
