The Candidate

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can be part of a friendly, hardworking team? The de Ferrers Academy is excited to welcome new exam invigilators to support our existing team. You’ll have the chance to work in dynamic exam centres – our Trent Campus hosting GCSE and Key Stage 4 exams, and our Sixth Form Campus running A Level and Key Stage 5 exams – and play a vital role in helping students succeed. Exams take place throughout the year, from pre‑public exams in December and March/April, to official external exams in November, January, and May/June. Flexibility and availability during these key times are essential, and in return, you’ll gain valuable experience and be part of a supportive team that truly values your contribution.

Responsibilities

  • Support the existing exam invigilator team.
  • Work in the Trent Campus and Sixth Form Campus exam centres.
  • Ensure exam conditions run smoothly and students have a comfortable environment.
  • Attend exams throughout the year, including pre‑public and official external exams.
  • Participate in full training and shadow experienced invigilators.
  • Complete essential training to work safely and effectively with young people.

Qualifications

  • Punctual, adaptable, attentive, and excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable shoes – you will be on your feet for the duration of the exam.
  • Good IT skills are a bonus, as training is largely online.
