Job Title - Through-the-night Delivery Driver
Location - Dash Express Exeter, Cullompton, EX15 3DA
Reports to - AM ShiftManager
Pay - £13.25 per hour
Shift Pattern - Tuesday to Saturday. 01:00 start time, to route finish. Average 40-45 hours a week.
Purpose
Dash Express is a leading logistics provider in the South-West, committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. In this Through-the-night Delivery Driver role, you'll deliver time-sensitive consignments safely and efficiently. With a lower volume of drops (10-15 per shift) and more driving, this role is well suited to someone who loves nothing more than being on the open road.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Load, secure and offload consignments safely, using recommended manual-handling techniques and lifting aids.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Scan and reconcile items using the Handheld Terminal (HHT); accurately record non-deliveries and discrepancies.
- Complete deliveries and collections to schedule while meeting Dash service and health & safety standards.
- Return to depot; unload, label non-deliveries, and ensure all palletised consignments are accounted for on the HHT.
- Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding delays, issues, or route changes.
- Provide professional customer service.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and refuelling at the end of each shift.
- Follow all company policies, including safe driving, roadworthiness, and Working Time guidance.
What We're Looking For
- Full UK driving licence (Category B) and a clean, safe driving record. Some experience driving 3.5 tonne vans would be great.
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling / heavy lifting.
- Experience with night-time delivery or courier work is desirable.
- Confident using HHTs / scanning devices and following digital workflows.
- Strong timekeeping, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Customer-focused communicator, comfortable in person and on the phone.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- All of our staff must pass a basic DBS check.
