Responsibilities
- Load, secure and offload palletised consignments safely, using proper manual-handling techniques and lifting aids.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Scan and reconcile items using the Handheld Terminal (HHT); accurately record non-deliveries and discrepancies.
- Complete multi-drop pallet deliveries and collections to schedule while meeting Dash service and health & safety standards.
- Use the HHT for scanning consignments and reporting discrepancies.
- Return to depot; unload, label non-deliveries and ensure all palletised consignments are accounted for on the HHT.
- Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding delays, issues, or route changes.
- Provide professional customer service in person and over the phone, protecting customers' property and privacy.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and refuelling at the end of each shift.
- Follow all company policies, including safe driving, roadworthiness, and Working Time guidance.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (Category B) and a clean, safe driving record.
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular manual handling / heavy lifting.
- Experience in multi-drop pallet delivery or courier work is desirable.
- Confident using HHTs / scanning devices and following digital workflows.
- Strong timekeeping, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Customer-focused communicator, comfortable in person and on the phone.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- All of our staff must pass a basic DBS check.
