Monocon International Refractories Limited has a vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer to be based primarily in our workshop at Old Denaby Doncaster.
Job Overview
- Mechanical build of general machinery
- Input into mechanical design
- Pneumatic design / build panel build and machine
- Small fabrications: welding, burning, drilling etc.
- Machine testing
- Installation and commissioning
Experience and Knowledge
- Mechanical and pneumatics
- Basic hydraulic and electrical knowledge desirable
- Transmission drive assemblies
- Structural assemblies
Testing
All equipment is manufactured and tested in the UK prior to dispatch to the customer.
Installation and Commissioning
Installation and commissioning of machinery in the steel plant (national and international travel). International travel approximately 6 weeks per year; each trip about 2 weeks depending on location.
Qualifications
BTEC Mechanical Engineering to HNC Level or equivalent.

Hours of Work
Monday to Thursday 08:00β17:00 (30 minute lunch), Friday 08:00β14:00 (no lunch).
