Description

Job Title: Support Worker Team Lead Location: To lead and support a team of support workers in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or other support requirements within a supported living setting. The Team Leader will ensure services are delivered in line with regulatory standards, internal policies, and the values of the organisation.

Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership and supervision to support staff. Organise staff rotas and ensure appropriate cover at all times. Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of staff. Conduct regular supervision, appraisal, and performance management.

Service Delivery: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support in line with each service user's individual plan. Promote independence, choice, and inclusion. Participate in the development and review of care/support plans and risk assessments.

Quality and Compliance: Ensure all practices meet Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) standards. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GDPR and safeguarding policies. Participate in internal audits, inspections, and contribute to continuous service improvement.

Safeguarding: Promote a safeguarding culture and respond appropriately to any concerns or disclosures. Report any concerns following the organisation's safeguarding and whistleblowing policies.

Essential Criteria: Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent). At least 3 years' experience working in a care or support role within a health and social care setting. Demonstrable experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs. Strong understanding of person-centred care and support planning. Good working knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and health and safety. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Full UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.

Desirable

Criteria: NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards). Experience working within a supported living setting. First Aid, Manual Handling, and/or Medication Administration training. Experience using digital care planning or rota systems. Understanding of the regulatory environment in Northern Ireland (e.g., Two satisfactory references, one of which must be from a recent employer in a relevant field. Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
