Report to: Registered Manager

Hours: Monday Friday 9am 5pm

KEY ROLE

To organise, coordinate, monitor and review stimulating and meaningful daily activities for all residents at Seeconnell; providing a person-centred programme meeting their individual needs.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead and encourage residents to take part in meaningful activities while maintaining their independence, choice and dignity.
  • To lead, manage and direct your staff team to support in delivery of daily activities.
  • To create a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events both in and out of Seeconnell.
  • To work closely with each resident, understanding their likes/dislikes, abilities and needs.
  • To plan relevant events and parties and oversee on the day.
  • To support with the purchasing of individual items for residents.
  • To develop individualised Activity Plans, Care Plans and Risk Assessments and review as per standards.
  • To support Manager with other daily management tasks as requested.
  • To support Seniors, Support Workers and residents as and when is needed.
  • To develop residents personal skills and abilities sourcing internal and external resources to achieve same.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Experience of managing and directing a staff team.
  • Experience of supervising the work of others.
  • Experience of report writing including review report writing and maintaining records to a high standard.
  • Experience of working with Learning Disability, Autism and managing behaviours which challenge.
  • Experience of developing Person Centred care plans.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Experience of facilitating RQIA Inspections.
  • Experience of On Call duties, providing support and guidance for staff team.
  • Previous experience of managing group activities and coordinating group participation.
  • Experience of managing and administration of medication.
  • Experience of managing finances and budgets in line with RQIA standards.
  • Experience of working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

All employees have a responsibility to participate in regular Supervisions and Appraisals with their Manager and to identify Performance Standards of the Post. As part of the Appraisal process every employee is responsible for participating in identifying their own training and development need to meet those Performance Standards.
