Description Job Summary To participate in our general care programs for residents under the direction of the Nurse in charge To promote and follow the philosophy and practices of the home, which seeks to protect, promote and respect the rights of the Patients to lead an independent lifestyle within the Home. To ensure that support provided to the Patients follows the agreed plan of care that focuses on their individual needs. Specific Responsibilities To work within a Person-Centered framework and ensuring that care plans reflect the needs of individuals. To actively involve families of the Patients in matters pertaining to the care and well- being of the client. To ensure all Corriewood Private Clinic's Policies and Procedures are followed To ensure high standards of care are maintained at all times. To act as a full member of the staff team and undertake any duties and responsibilities that may be identified to meet the service need. To ensure all necessary precautions are taken, in relation to the Health and Safety of the Patients, staff and visitors. This should be followed in accordance with statutory and local policies. To assist the Nurse in Charge in the development and implementation of Care Programs, their reviews and ensuring that the needs of the Patients are met. To involve and encourage full participation of the Patients in all aspects of the running of their home, including offering choices and new opportunities. To assist in the development and promotion of a variety of activities for the Patients, including integration into the community. To assist and work with the Patients in accessing community services to meet their needs such as Health Care, Recreational, Social and Educational. To ensure the property of the Patients is well maintained and that any faults and/or damage are reported to the Manager. To report any deficiencies of the service to the Manager. To identify own training needs and personal development as well as participating in identified Mandatory Training as required. To attend and actively participate in regular staff/ Team meetings. To receive regular supervisions from your Manager in line with RQIA requirements and Corriewood Private Clinic's Policies and Procedures. Participate in general care programs for residents to the direction of the Nurse in charge Respond to the needs and requests of residents and their relatives in an appropriate manner. Ensure the general wellbeing of residents. Assist in feeding, cleaning and toileting programs for residents. Assist residents dress / undress and in mobility as necessary. Ensure standards of care and general hygiene are maintained at a high level. Build and maintain good personal relationships with residents. Co-operate with management and other staff in the smooth and efficient running of the operation. Report any problems associated with resident's care to the Nurse in charge or other management as appropriate. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT All employees have a responsibility to participate in regular Appraisals with their Manager and to identify Performance Standards of the Post. As part of the Appraisal process every employee is responsible for participating in identifying their own training and development need to meet those Performance Standards.
