Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Senior Application Support Engineer to join a growing IT team and play a key role in supporting critical business applications across a modern and complex technology stack.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Investigating and resolving technical incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and effective root cause analysis
- Proactively maintaining and optimising applications, performing upgrades and configuration changes
- Monitoring system performance, defining service-level objectives, and addressing bottlenecks before they impact users
- Collaborating closely with engineering and business teams to drive operational excellence
- Enhancing processes, documentation, and tooling to support continuous improvement
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in an application support or support engineering role, within financial services ideally, or another regulated environment
Strong knowledge of SRE principles, incident management, monitoring, and performance tuning
Hands-on technical skills across a broad range of technologies, including:
- Microsoft: C#, VB, .NET Core, Azure, SQL Server, IIS, Windows Server
- Web: React, RESTful APIs, Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Tools: CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), Dynatrace, Git, Okta, Apigee
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
Desirable:
- Familiarity with legacy VB/C# applications in a modernised environment
- Experience in automation/scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
- Background in financial services applications or products
Location: London (hybrid working β 2/3 days a week in the office)
