The company was launched in 2020 as part of a global expansion strategy. Its UK presence is relatively new and has been built primarily through acquisition. The parent company is the world's leading Pest Control business.
Role Overview:
They currently run six payrolls (85 employees currently), with a transition underway to consolidate these under a single system. The parent company have partnered with a Payroll software provider. The goal is to have all UK payrolls with the provider by the end of 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day Payroll Management:
- Initially, the role will focus on running payroll across multiple brands in its current state.
- Managing manual processes for overtime, bonuses, and other payroll elements (currently brand-led, but an HRIS system will soon improve automation).
- Engaging with individual brand contacts to collate payroll data.
- Payroll Migration & System Transition:
- Leading the transition of payroll from Sage and independent providers to the new provider by the end of 2025.
- Ensuring a smooth transition by working closely with the independent provider (who will support the first 1-2 payrolls post-handover).
- Overseeing the pension provider consolidation from four providers to one.
- Post-Implementation Responsibilities:
- Running a simplified payroll process once UKG is fully implemented.
- Conducting payroll gap analysis, compliance checks, and audits.
- Managing payroll reporting - headcounts, starters, leavers analysis.
- Handling P11D administration for the company car fleet.
- Collaborating with the finance team to validate general ledger entries.
- Monitoring and reporting on payroll-related KPIs in relation to budgets.
- Analysing pay rises and bonus structures.
- Ensuring compliance with payroll-related legislation, audits, and reporting requirements.
- Understanding and managing share schemes through payroll.
- Overseeing onboarding and offboarding processes (including DBS checks, Right to Work documentation, and employee file management).
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in payroll migration projects.
- CIPP qualification is essential.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience with UKG payroll systems is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work with multiple brands and stakeholders across the business.
- Experience in onboarding/offboarding processes, right-to-work checks, and DBS checks.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, particularly in relation to payroll KPIs and financial reporting.
- Comfortable working in a fast-growing, acquisition-heavy environment with evolving processes.
