Newport, Wales – Hybrid (Thursday in office)
Our client, a leading independent finance house, has a strong legacy of providing flexible and accessible finance solutions to UK SMEs. With more than two decades of growth and innovation, they have become one of the most respected names in the asset finance space — blending technology and teamwork to deliver outstanding customer service.
As part of their ongoing growth journey, they are now seeking a Group Finance Manager to help drive forward their ambitious plans and lead a high-performing finance team at the heart of the business.
About the Role:
This senior leadership role reports directly to the Group CFO and sits on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). You\’ll be responsible for overseeing key financial functions, including internal and external reporting, business planning, pricing, payroll, and financial governance. The role also has two direct reports, managing a permanent team of 12 across Accounting, Payouts, and Business Partnering.
You’ll act as a strategic business partner while also owning operational finance delivery — with the opportunity to step up and cover for the CFO as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end close process and deliver timely, accurate flash and final management accounts to the Board.
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial controls are upheld.
- Oversee the year-end audit process and quarterly reporting to private equity stakeholders.
- Manage monthly payroll and the pay-outs process for daily supplier/vendor equipment payments.
- Deliver the annual business plan and reforecasts, collaborating across departments.
- Develop a Pricing Framework aligned to commercial goals.
- Drive effective cost control and financial analytics.
What We’re Looking For:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW)
- Proven experience in a Finance Director or senior finance leadership role.
- Financial services background is essential.
- Strong knowledge of group reporting, consolidation, and funder accounting (e.g. SPVs, Hedge, Deemed Loan).
- Excellent team leadership and stakeholder management experience.
Why Join?
Our client offers a collaborative and inclusive culture where everyone — regardless of title — is encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge the status quo, and shape the future of the business. It\’s a dynamic, ambitious environment where you\’ll have real impact and visibility at the top level.
