Our client, formed in 1991, is one of the largest specialized Engineering and Environmental geophysics providers operating on a global basis.
The Geophysicist's role requires active involvement at every stage of a project from initial planning and site works through to reporting. At each stage, the emphasis is on quality and customer service. Working as part of a team, the Geophysicist will be required to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, the public, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing projects based on customer requirements, assessing and agreeing effective techniques prior to site work, with an emphasis on quality, customer service as well as budget and program requirements.
- Competent data collection; collecting good quality data showing reliable repeatability and accuracy for a wide range of techniques including electromagnetics, magnetics, radio frequency location, GPR, seismics, ERI, and utility services detection.
- Managing data quality in line with our client's QC procedures.
- Using specialist geophysical software and drawing packages (e.g. AutoCAD 2015, Oasis Montaj, RES2DINV, Radan, IDS-GRED) to QC, process, analyze, and interpret data.
- With supervision, guidance, and authorization, undertaking all phases of reporting from factual through to interpretation and recommendations, focusing on customer requirements and quality.
- Identifying new ways of working, whether offering a technical enhancement or helping improve efficiency on site and in the office.
- Demonstrating dedication and eagerness to progress and provide a high level of service, even if extra effort/hours of personal time are required to meet a deadline.
Skills / Experience Needed
- Previous experience working in a similar role (2-3 years).
- Relevant degree would be advantageous.
- Full Manual driving license is essential.
- Good physical fitness (as site work requires considerable walking and lifting).
