We believe great design sits at the centre of every great digital experience. That's why we're looking for a talented Web Designer to join our growing team at THE CURIOUS, an independent creative marketing agency based in Shrewsbury. If you're passionate about crafting websites that are as visually striking as they are easy to navigate, love bringing brands to life online, and take pride in design that genuinely performs, this could be a really exciting next step.

The Role

You’ll work closely with our digital team to design and build websites and digital assets that don't just look exceptional, they work beautifully across every device. From initial concepts and creative direction through to polished, production-ready design, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our clients show up online. This is a role for someone who thinks creatively, cares about the details, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving studio environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing visually compelling, user‑friendly websites across a range of clients and industries
  • Leading the creative direction of web projects, from initial wireframes through to final design
  • Creating refined, on‑brand designs that align with client goals, brand identity, and audience needs
  • Ensuring all work is responsive, accessible, and built to web best practices
  • Collaborating with developers and marketers to ensure seamless delivery from concept to launch
  • Maintaining a strong eye for detail, consistency, and quality across all output
  • Contributing ideas to improve design systems, creative processes, and the overall look and feel of client work

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in web design, ideally within an agency or fast‑paced creative environment
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of web projects and a confident visual design sensibility
  • Confident use of design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
  • A solid understanding of responsive design, visual hierarchy, and web best practices
  • The ability to translate brand identity and business goals into clear, engaging design solutions
  • Sharp attention to detail and a genuine passion for considered, purposeful design
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Based in or able to commute to Shrewsbury — this is a full‑time, on‑site role

Our Process

We like to keep things straightforward. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a short video call that’s under 30 minutes to chat through the role and give you a chance to ask anything you'd like to know. If it feels like a good fit on both sides, we'll invite you into our Shrewsbury studio to meet the team properly.

Why THE CURIOUS

Our open‑plan studio is collaborative, creative, and a genuinely great place to do your best work. We're a team that cares about quality, supports each other, and takes real pride in delivering work that makes a difference for our clients. You'll have room to grow, develop your skills, and put your stamp on the work we produce.
