- Ensure all hotel equipment, systems and facilities are maintained safely and efficiently.
- Manage external contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the required standard.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, service reports and certification.
- Monitor maintenance stock levels and manage the ordering of tools, equipment, parts and supplies.
- Support the management of maintenance budgets and identify opportunities to control costs and improve efficiency.
- Work closely with all hotel departments to minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations.
- Identify recurring maintenance issues and implement effective long-term solutions.
- Respond appropriately to emergency maintenance situations and building-related incidents.
Ensure the overall physical condition and presentation of the hotel consistently meets Marriott Brand standards.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with company health & safety, fire safety and security procedures.
- Maintain all required statutory inspections, servicing records and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure contractors follow hotel safety procedures and appropriate risk assessments and method statements are in place.
- Report and address hazards, defects and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Ensure the maintenance team completes all required safety training and certifications.
- Support hotel audits and ensure maintenance-related actions are completed within required deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and safety within plant rooms, workshops and maintenance areas.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and best practices relating to hotel maintenance and building safety.
About You
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer or similar facilities leadership role, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry and painting.
- Good understanding of planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of health & safety and fire safety requirements.
- Confident managing contractors, suppliers and maintenance projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a practical and proactive approach.
