The Role: As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will lead the daily operations of our Restaurant, Bar, and Breakfast service, ensuring outstanding hospitality across every guest touchpoint. From welcoming guests at breakfast to overseeing vibrant evening bar service, you’ll set the standard for efficiency, creativity, and exceptional guest experiences. You will work closely with the F&B Manager team training and the day-to-day delivery of exceptional food and beverage experiences, ensuring our dining and bar offerings reflect both the Marriott lifestyle ethos and the spirit of Kensington. You will also support the Front Office operation when required, assisting during busy periods and contributing to a smooth, efficient, and memorable guest experience across the hotel.
Your Responsibilities:
- Operations & Service: Oversee the smooth running of the restaurant, bar, and breakfast service, ensuring high-quality food and beverage delivery at every service period. Supervise and support the breakfast team, ensuring buffet presentation, consistency, and timely service. Manage reservations, table plans, and guest flow to maximise efficiency and average spend. Ensure timely setup, service, and breakdown of all F&B outlets, including events and promotions (e.g. Champagne Breakfast, Bottomless Brunch, Afternoon Tea, Cocktail Nights). Greet and engage with guests, resolving feedback promptly and professionally.
- Team Leadership: Support the F&B Manager in recruiting, training, and developing the F&B team, including waitstaff, bartenders, and baristas. Lead daily team briefings and provide ongoing coaching to uphold brand standards. Create and manage rotas, ensuring optimal staffing levels in line with business needs. Foster a positive, guest-focused culture, leading by example on the floor.
- Sales & Promotions: Work with the F&B Manager to plan and deliver creative promotions and themed events. Upsell food and beverage offerings to enhance guest spend and experience. Monitor sales performance, analyse data, and suggest improvements to boost profitability.
- Stock & Finance: Assist the F&B Manager with ordering, inventory, and stock control for both restaurant and bar. Monitor costs, portion sizes, and wastage to protect profitability. Support menu costing, pricing, and guest satisfaction initiatives.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, health & safety, fire safety, and licensing laws. Conduct regular safety and hygiene audits, following up with corrective actions. Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation standards in all F&B areas.
About You: Proven experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant, bar, or hotel F&B setting. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Passionate about creating memorable guest experiences and inspiring a team. Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable to a dynamic hotel environment. Knowledge of stock control, licensing laws, and food hygiene standards. Pre-opening or rebranding experience is a plus.
