Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking an experienced, motivated, and personable individual to join our Highways and Transport Service as a Lighting Engineer. This is a permanent opportunity offering the chance to play a key role within a large and progressive organisation, delivering a diverse range of lighting schemes across the Lake District National Park and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

As part of our central Lighting team, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of lighting improvement and maintenance projects. Your role will include but is not limited to:

  • Preparing and producing lighting designs and project documentation
  • Managing and processing maintenance and improvement schemes
  • Undertaking asset inventory collection and data verification
  • Ensuring compliance with materials specifications and contractor frameworks
  • Carrying out surveys, specifications, and data input activities

We are looking for a strong communicator who can confidently provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders. You will:
