About this opportunity
Are you passionate about making a difference in your local community? We are seeking 3 reliable and friendly Minibus Drivers to deliver two vital Demand-Responsive Rural Transport (DDRT) services – one based in Ulverston and one around Penrith. These services help connect residents in rural and remote areas with essential amenities, services, and opportunities – from medical appointments to shops and social events.
Responsibilities
- Operate a DDRT service, providing flexible, community-focused transport for rural residents.
- Prioritise DDRT operations to ensure maximum coverage and reliability for passengers.
- Support the Schools Transport Team during busy periods, ensuring children travel safely and on time.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure all safety and compliance requirements are met.
- Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, including those with reduced mobility or additional needs.
Who we are looking for…
- Confident, caring, and community minded.
- Hold as a minimum a valid D1 driving licence.
- Able to work on a rota basis covering weekdays and some weekends.
- Reliable and committed to providing a safe and welcoming travel experience.
- Experience in passenger transport is desirable, but not essential.
