Job Overview

Support Worker (Carer / Care Worker / Care Assistant) at Elmhurst Residential Home, Ulverston. Permanent contract.

Pay, Hours and Working Conditions

Hourly Rate: £13.47 (£14.00 including supplement after 6 months).
Available Hours: 21 hours and 24.5 hours per week. Shift Pattern: 7:00‑10:00 (days) or 21:30‑7:30 (nights), seven days a week for a full year, including alternate weekends and bank holidays.

About the Residential Care Service

Help older adults live according to their wishes and maintain independence through nutrition, fitness, mobility and emotional support.

Role Responsibilities

  • Know residents individually and support their wellbeing through physical and emotional care.
  • Assist with medication, personal care and encouraging independence.
  • Work assigned shifts covering the full spectrum of the year, including weekends and bank holidays.

Safety, DBS and Employment Conditions

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s/Adults Barred List check. Working in regulated activity with adults requires a non‑barred DBS.
