About this opportunity
We are seeking a Specialist Maintenance Operative. Westmorland and Furness Council are delighted to offer new roles within the Corporate Asset Team. We are looking to recruit a Specialist Maintenance Operative to keep our Asset portfolio maintained to the highest standards possible. The portfolio consists of, but is not limited to, all our public accessible buildings, care facilities, sports complexes, libraries, retail outlets and commercial premises.
Specialist Maintenance Operatives must be qualified in a trades background with extensive knowledge in the Maintenance industry. Demonstrating skills in multiple trades will be an advantage. The job will involve travelling from site to site within the Westmorland and Furness district carrying out Maintenance jobs within our buildings. You will meet both employees and customers, so good communication skills are essential. No two days will be the same, so a flexible approach will be needed.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidates will have a positive work ethic, excellent communication skills and be a team player. Being able to use digital devices is very important. All of our job information will be accessed digitally through smart phones and tablets. You must be qualified to a minimum Level 3 Diploma or GNVQ in a relevant trades profession. The ideal candidates will hold a full and clean UK driving licence and have experience driving LCV. We need people who can be flexible to meet the demands of this service. There may be weekend work, bank holiday work and working outside our normal operating hours. You will also be part of our Out of Hours service responding to emergencies on a rota basis. Additional remuneration is paid for this service.
