About this opportunity:

Referrals will come from the Domestic Abuse Supported Accommodation (DASA) Officers within the DASA Teams-posts held within Eden Housing, Barrow Women Community Matters and Springfield. The DASA Officers act as Lead Professional, with the new post holder being secondary allocated worker for children who are victims of domestic abuse. Each family within DASA where there are Children in safe accommodation, the Specialist domestic abuse worker will be involved to carry out direct work and capture the voice of the child. This part time post is dedicated to the Barrow area but may at times require travel to other parts of Westmorland and Furness.

The Role:

  • To provide a range of interventions and support to children and young people who are at risk of or exposed to domestic abuse.
  • The workers will work as part of a specialised team.
  • To work closely with the child’s care team to ensure all professionals working with the child understand domestic abuse and lead on the planning of interventions to support the child to reduce risk and stay safe.
  • To support the specialist domestic abuse teams other functions if required.
  • Holding the IDVA qualification is desirable.
