Hourly Rate: £13.26 - £17.96. The advertised hourly rate includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and/or working conditions of the role. A market supplement is currently being applied to all night and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) shifts, uplifting your hourly rate in these periods to £17.96. This will replace any previous market supplements and will apply to both your contracted hours and to any additional hours worked within the applicable time periods.

We have opportunities for caring and compassionate people to join our Cumbria Care team at Christian Head, as Night Support Workers (Carer, Care Worker, Care Assistant) providing support and care within our Residential Care Services.

About Residential Care: Help older adults live their life how they choose and enjoy their later years. Support people to stay active and healthy by encouraging good nutrition and promoting fitness and mobility, as well as supporting emotional wellness.

About the Role: As a Night Support Worker (Carer, Care Worker, Care Assistant), you will support our residents typically between 9:30pm and 07:30am. During this time, you will be responsible for administering medication, ensuring all security checks are completed, dealing with emergencies, and assisting our Service Users with any of their needs. It is a challenging role, with a great deal of responsibility, and we are looking for someone who has good responses, the ability to adapt, and can make safe and confident decisions to support the wellbeing of our residents.

About Our Home: Christian Head provides a safe, caring, and home-from-home environment for up to 28 residents with complex health care needs. Situated close to all facilities in the market town of Kirkby Stephen, we offer respite and residential care for those who are elderly, frail, or have dementia.

Working within our Residential Care Service will typically involve working shifts which usually cover between 7am until 10pm (days) or 9.30pm – 7.30am (nights), over 7 days, 365 days a year – this will include alternate weekends (as part of a set rota) and Bank Holidays.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with an Adults Barred List check. Please note this role involves working in regulated activity.
