About this opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Adult Social Care team in Westmorland and Furness, working to support individuals with care and support needs through strengths-based assessments and personalised support. Our focus is on promoting independence and enabling people to maximise their strengths while working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality, person-centred support that aligns with the council’s commitment to continuously improving modern and competitive services for our community.

In this role, you will work under the guidance of qualified practitioners, holding a caseload and carrying out assessments to develop tailored support plans. You will play an active role in risk management, monitoring outcomes, and ensuring individuals receive the most effective support. With opportunities for professional development, you will be supported to grow in your role while upholding national legislation, professional standards, and best practices.

Our Service operates between 8am and 8pm, over 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Please note: Rota patterns will include alternate weekends (as part of a set rota) and Bank Holidays.

Who we are looking for…

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated individual with experience or awareness of social care, healthcare, or the voluntary sector. You should have a Level 3 qualification in Care (or be willing to work towards one) and strong communication skills to collaborate with customers, carers, and stakeholders. A proactive approach to risk management, moving and handling, and health and safety is essential, along with the ability to plan workloads, meet deadlines, and use IT effectively. Most importantly, you should be committed to promoting independence, influencing positive change, and ensuring high-quality, person-centred care.
