Cumberland Council is looking for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Workshop Mechanic to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy workshop environment, supporting a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections, repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Undertake diagnostic fault finding, accident repairs and vehicle modifications.
- Respond to operational incidents, providing emergency repair support where required.
- Support vehicle changeovers and ensure fleet availability.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation.
- Ensure all work meets Council, legal and manufacturer standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and compliant workshop environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, supporting best practice and service delivery.
About You:
You will be a qualified vehicle technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with experience in fleet or heavy vehicle maintenance. You will have strong diagnostic skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to health and safety and high-quality workmanship.
