About this opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for you to join Westmorland and Furness Council as an Environmental Health Officer within our Public Protection Service, focusing on Food Safety, Health and Safety, and Licensing. In this role, you will help us to keep our communities safe through undertaking a wide range of regulatory activities including health protection, infection control, health and safety at work, food safety and integrity, and port health. You’ll be joining a dedicated and experienced team where you will be managing your own caseload of primarily Food Safety and Health and Safety work including proactive and reactive inspections, complaint investigations, and service requests. Who we are looking for… We are looking for qualified Environmental Health Practitioners who hold a diploma, BSc, or MSc in Environmental Health and are EHRB registered or equivalent. Candidates must also demonstrate current competence as outlined in the Food Law Code of Practice. In addition, candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively at all levels. The role also requires the ability to work independently while maintaining a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
