About this opportunity:
We have exciting opportunities for dedicated and qualified Social Workers to join our Cared For and Support and Protect Teams. You will help deliver exceptional service to improve outcomes for children and families in Westmorland and Furness. The Supporting and Protecting Role is varied, working with families short-term with assessments and long-term with Child in Need Plans and Child Protection Plans. In some cases, we complete pre-proceedings work and issue care proceedings. We work with young people from birth to 18 and have strong links with other agencies.
Cared For Team:
You will work with children currently cared for by the Local Authority, ensuring proper care plans. You will also support young people leaving care, helping them gain independence. Additionally, you will assess children who are seeking asylum.

We seek Social Workers with a “can do” attitude, child-focused, creative in planning, who share our vision and can inspire across agencies. Successful experience in similar roles and good knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is required.
