Role Overview

Children are at the heart of everything we do in Cumberland Children and Family Wellbeing, and we need skilled and experienced Social Workers to ensure that they get the support, protection and empowerment that they deserve. As a Social Worker within our Support and Protect Service you will be responsible for completing assessments, leading child in need and child protection planning and completing court work; this is a role that makes a real difference to children and families across Cumberland.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assessments and child protection plans.
  • Lead child in need and child protection planning.
  • Complete court work and coordinate multi-agency support.
  • Build effective collaborative relationships with children and families.
  • Capture the voice and lived experience of children through creative direct work.
  • Drive plans forward, empower families and coordinate multi-agency support.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Level 3 credentials.
  • Experience in child protection and court work.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with children and families.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills.

DBS Checks

Enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check. This role involves working in regulated activity with children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with children.
