About this opportunity

Cumberland Council is seeking to appoint a dynamic Archives Professional Lead to head our archival team and lead the development to deliver archival strategy. As the Archives Professional Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, management, and development of our archival collections and services. You will ensure accessibility and use of our archives in compliance with best practice and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the archival team, providing professional guidance and support to the team.
  • Provide tailored and specialist advice to the organisation.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards related to information.

This role is available on a permanent basis.
