As a Family Help Area Officer you will provide high‑quality early support to children and families across Cumberland. You will deliver Family Help consultation and guidance to professionals and practitioners, ensuring that frontline support to vulnerable children, young people and their families is effective and timely. Your role involves initiating, undertaking and quality‑assuring Early Help Assessments and plans in partnership with external organisations.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with schools, voluntary sector organisations and other agencies to implement improvements in Family Help for children and families.
- Support partners external to the council to carry out Early Help Assessments and develop quality plans.
- Serve as part of a small, proactive, supportive team within the Family Help, Partnership and Youth Justice Directorate.
- Maintain a culture that places children, young people and families at the heart of service delivery.
- Support colleagues across Localities 1, 2, 3 and 4 (Cluster A and B), with a focus on Millom, Whitehaven and Keswick, and provide cover for other Family Help Area Officers when required.
