The Cruise Globe is building the world’s leading digital platform for cruise travellers. Alongside the Cruise Globe platform and app, we operate The Cruise Maps (thecruisemaps.com), a fast-growing e-commerce business selling premium physical products to cruise travellers around the world. The Cruise Maps launched in summer 2023 and has grown rapidly, generating £1.2m in revenue last year and remaining the largest revenue line in the business today. It is profitable, well-loved by customers, and strategically important.

As the company scales, we need dedicated senior ownership of The Cruise Maps to ensure it continues to grow strongly, efficiently, and intelligently, without pulling focus away from the future of the platform.

Requirements

We are hiring a Head of E‑commerce to own and drive the revenue growth of The Cruise Maps. This role exists to take over the day‑to‑day commercial and growth leadership of the e‑commerce business. Today, much of this responsibility sits with the CEO by default. While the CEO will remain closely involved in major decisions and direction, this role is about introducing experienced, specialist judgment into how The Cruise Maps is grown.

You will own how The Cruise Maps grows. That includes marketing performance, pricing strategy, contribution discipline, supplier and fulfilment considerations, customer experience, and close collaboration with product and partnerships. Marketing is the primary lever, but it is not the only one.

This is not a general management role and not a pure marketing role. It is a senior commercial role for someone who lives and breathes e‑commerce, understands what great looks like, and is capable of independently identifying and executing the changes that materially move revenue.

Success in this role is defined by:

  • Strong top‑line revenue growth for The Cruise Maps
  • Increasing discipline around contribution margin and unit economics
  • A clear reduction in CEO involvement in tactical e‑commerce decision‑making
  • A well‑run, predictable, and continuously improving e‑commerce growth engine

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own Revenue Growth for The Cruise Maps
  • Take primary responsibility for growing top‑line revenue across all e‑commerce channels
  • Own and optimise revenue growth for a large, international Shopify‑based e‑commerce business
  • Develop and execute the growth strategy in close partnership with the CEO
  • Ensure growth is ambitious but commercially disciplined

Lead E‑commerce Marketing Performance

  • Own performance across paid social, email marketing, affiliates, and other growth channels
  • Set direction for, manage, and hold external agencies to account
