Trainee Arborist - Vegetation Management
Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week£13.00 per HourLocation: Cheshire / Birmingham
The Crown Group is looking for a motivated and reliable Trainee Arborist to join our growing Vegetation Management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career within the arboriculture and railway vegetation management industry. No previous arboricultural experience is essential, as training and development will be provided.
You'll work alongside experienced arborists and vegetation management professionals, gaining practical, hands-on experience while working towards the skills and qualifications needed to progress within the industry.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Trainee Arborist, you'll support our teams on a variety of vegetation management projects, including:
- Carrying out vegetation clearance and management along railway infrastructure and other sites
- Cutting back trees, shrubs and overgrown vegetation
- Assisting qualified arborists with tree felling, pruning and dismantling operations
- Learning to safely use chainsaws, brushcutters and other specialist arboricultural equipment
- Processing timber, branches and vegetation using woodchippers and associated equipment
- Helping maintain safe clearance around railway signals, signage, structures and infrastructure
- Assisting with site set-up, maintenance and general arboricultural operations
- Following site-specific risk assessments, method statements and safety procedures
- Developing your knowledge of arboriculture, vegetation management and railway safety
As your experience and competence develop, you'll have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and work towards further industry qualifications.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
