We're looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our skilled team of butchers. If you're passionate about learning a craft, eager to earn a recognised industry qualification, and ready to build a long-term career, this is the perfect opportunity for you! As you progress through your apprenticeship, you'll gain excellent experience, expert training, and on successful completion clear opportunities to grow within the business. You do not need experience for this role, just plenty of interest in working in butchery and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
- Learn essential butchery skills: cutting, trimming, boning, portioning
- Work safely with knives and equipment
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and H&S standards
- Prepare, label, and package meat products
- Support stock control, deliveries, and cold-store organisation
- Provide basic customer advice
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and efficient
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills; approachable and professional
- Reliable, eager to learn, and adaptable
- Good attention to detail
- Physically fit and comfortable standing for long periods
- Team-focused with a positive attitude
- Basic IT skills
- Minimum of two GCSEs incl. English & Maths at grade E/2 (or equivalent)
- EHCP applicants accepted with Entry Level 3 in English & Maths
- Aged 16+, not in full-time education
- Right to work in the UK
- Able to commute to Windsor Farm Shop
