Join The Crown Estate as a Senior Surveying Manager (Senior Associate)
Purpose of Role
This role provides primary oversight of the St James East & South portfolio, including the onboarding and ongoing management of 10 Spring Gardens and New Zealand House. The successful candidate will support, lead and mentor the team to deliver the business plan objectives in collaboration with Asset Management.
Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities
Reporting to the Commercial PM Ops & St James Lead, the Senior Surveying Manager will:
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to address historic performance issues.
- Ensure accurate property management data and financial reporting across the East Side portfolio.
- Oversee service charge budgets and reconciliations in line with RICS guidelines and business performance metrics.
- Support lease enforcement and ensure timely rent collection and financial discipline.
- Lead team meetings and contribute to strategic asset planning to enhance income and operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior colleagues, set objectives, conduct appraisals and support professional development.
- Enhance customer experience through high-quality, timely communication and engagement.
Most Important Skills-Based Requirements
We are seeking a candidate who brings:
- A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally MRICS.
- Experience in delivering and mobilising high-profile developments.
- Strong property management experience, with a focus on customer service and stakeholder coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of landlord and tenant law, with practical application.
- Experience managing mixed-use, multi-let buildings.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including training and succession planning.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and deliver effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Awareness of sustainability, net zero and ESG principles, with working knowledge of NABERS preferred.
