Purpose of the Role

This is a rare opportunity to take on a visible, hands‑on role at the heart of one of the UK’s most iconic estates—Windsor Great Park. As the on‑site Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Wellbeing (HSSEW) lead, you’ll be the go‑to expert for all operational safety and environmental matters. You will help shape and embed a proactive Safety First culture across a diverse and dynamic landscape.

You’ll work closely with teams across the estate, from facilities and construction to conservation and events, ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are not only met—but exceeded. Main accountabilities

  • Provide tailored HSSEW advice, coaching, and support across all operational activities at Windsor.
  • Embed the Safety First strategy and foster a culture of proactive risk management and wellbeing.
  • Monitor and assess HSE performance, escalating risks and recommending improvements.
  • Lead on‑site environmental and physical security management, ensuring systems are robust and compliant.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and reviews across the estate and supply chain.
  • Investigate serious incidents and near misses, ensuring lessons are captured and shared.
  • Deliver engaging training, inductions, and awareness programmes tailored to Windsor’s unique needs.
  • Liaise with statutory bodies and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support contractor and project safety through CDM monitoring and early‑stage risk planning.
  • Develop and maintain governance, reporting, and assurance frameworks for HSSEW.
  • Champion occupational health and hygiene standards, including access to specialist advice.
  • Manage estate‑wide compliance activities such as HAVS, fire safety, and water hygiene.
  • Operate flexibly across the business and to support operational hours.

Most important skills based requirements

  • Broad experience across sectors is essential
  • Experience in the coastal, agricultural or rural estate industry is desirable
  • Extensive experience in health, safety and environmentalmanagement, overseeing all relevant health and safety activities;
    • NEBOSH Diploma qualification or part‑qualification or equivalent experience;
    • IEMA qualification in Environmental Management desirable;
    • Demonstrable experience of advising on the development,implementation and maintenance of a health and safety management system including strategy, policy and programmes in a changing environment;
    • Detailed knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation,including CDM and occupational health and safety;
    • Experience in management systems auditing and riskmanagement;
    • An awareness of HSE investigations and procedures in relation to enforcement (improvement notices and prohibition orders);
    • Experience of delivering elements of projects and programmes of change;
    • Demonstrable experience in the ability to work flexibly and role model agility by working on any adhoc projects and flexibly across the business as required by business need
