This learning and development role offers the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and experience to become a qualified Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician. No prior experience is required – just a keen interest in plumbing and a willingness to learn. The apprenticeship lasts typically 48 months (excluding the End Point Assessment) and leads to a Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician qualification upon successful completion.
What you’ll be doing
You will work as part of a professional team to deliver plumbing and domestic heating maintenance and installation works across our property portfolio. Responsibilities include:
- Installing pipework
- Fitting radiators and boilers
- Using tools and machinery safely
- Reading and interpreting drawings
Work will involve manual tasks, including working at significant heights outdoors in all weathers. You will comply with health and safety legislation and safe working practices, and engage in on‑the‑job training as part of a structured programme. Task‑specific work will help you develop the skills and knowledge relevant to the apprenticeship standard through a blended learning model of online theory and on‑campus workshops.

Eligibility criteria by the start date:
- GCSE in English and Maths at Grade 4 or above
- Age 16 or over and have completed year 11
- Not in full‑time education
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Able to travel to the college in Langley SL3 8BY one day per week

Other requirements
- Able to travel to Windsor Great Park – working hours are 7.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday
- Security clearance in addition to standard BPSS checks must be maintained
- The role holder must be able to work two weekends each year to support the wider Estate; overtime or time‑off in lieu will be offered
- The role holder must be able to undertake a largely manual role
