Are you ready to use your financial modelling expertise and development appraisal experience to shape the financial thinking behind some of our most complex urban development projects? In this role, you will be a key financial advisor across both single-phase and multi-phase schemes, providing insightful analysis, guiding commercial decisions and helping the business understand performance, opportunity and risk. You will collaborate closely with development teams, lead meaningful financial assessments and ensure each project is underpinned by robust appraisals and clear, reliable insight. This is a role where your modelling, analysis and partnering skills all come together to make a tangible difference.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial assessments for major development propositions, providing high-quality, commercially insightful analysis across both single-phase and multi-phase development opportunities.
- Partner closely with development teams, offering financial expertise, constructive challenge and clear, accessible insight that helps shape decisions at every stage of the project lifecycle.
- Build and enhance complex financial models, helping us innovate and improve our modelling capability and approach across the business. Create robust scenario analysis, bringing clarity to performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment across all appraisals.
- Support long-term business planning and forecasting, becoming a go-to person for development financials and capital expenditure.
- Craft board-ready papers and presentations, translating complex financial information into compelling, digestible recommendations for senior leaders.
- Champion good governance, ensuring financial controls, ERP usage and reporting processes remain reliable, accessible and continuously improving.

Development Appraisal Experience
- Experience preparing development appraisals, ideally multi-phase, to support evaluation, decision-making and performance understanding.
Financial Modelling Capability
- Confidence building, reviewing and enhancing financial models that support project viability and scenario planning.
Excel Proficiency
- Comfortable working with complex spreadsheets and using Excel as a core analytical tool.
Business Partnering
- Able to work collaboratively with development teams, offering clear, grounded financial insight that supports project delivery.
ERP Systems Confidence
- Willingness to use and learn evolving ERP systems for planning, forecasting and reporting, applying sound judgement as the tools develop.
Relevant Qualifications
- Qualifications such as RICS, CIMA, ACA, ACCA (or equivalent), with post-qualification experience.
Sharing Information Effectively
- Comfortable explaining financial concepts in a way that builds understanding across different teams and levels.
Collaborative Approach
- Enjoy working across teams and functions, contributing to a supportive, open and joined-up working environment.
Attention to Detail & Prioritisation
- Comfortable working with detail while managing deadlines and multiple priorities.
Familiarity With Valuation Tools
