About The Role: Our client, one of the most desirable design-led architecture practices in London, is seeking an Urban Designer/Masterplanner to join their team to work on high-profile projects in London and across the UK. This role is central to the creative team and is responsible for shaping and communicating the design story through well-presented materials whilst working on town and housing regeneration projects. A key aspect of the position involves supporting the projects when preparing planning applications, frameworks and design codes as well as working alongside the Project Lead when engaging with local authorities and handling client relationships. Key Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate will take a leading role across a variety of projects, ranging from medium to large-scale town and housing regeneration schemes in London and across the UK.
  • You will be responsible for creating design outputs from initial concept through to planning submissions and design code preparation.
  • You will apply your placemaking expertise to develop and deliver high-quality schemes.
  • Site analysis, project and urban strategy development, and planning research.
  • Guiding the architectural team, coordinating work with the urban team in addition to liaising with clients and local authorities.

Key Skills / Requirements:

  • A minimum of RIBA Part I qualification, either in Architecture or Urban Design.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a professional practice.
  • Masterplanning experience in the UK / London.
  • Strong understanding of UK planning policies.
  • Prior experience working on planning applications and design codes is essential.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp is essential.
  • Strong presentation skills in Adobe is desirable.
