Our client, a mid-to-large-sized design practice is looking for a Head of Business Development and Marketing to join their social and friendly London team. In this role, you will work closely with the founding directors to elevate and push the brand beyond its already successful position in the industry. You will lead on shaping and driving high-level marketing and business development strategies, all with the common goal of winning new business and expanding the company’s reach. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience from the design, engineering, or built environment sectors, along with the strategic mindset and leadership skills to confidently manage and inspire a small team. As the studio looks to explore new sectors and diversify its portfolio, a wide network of industry contacts would be highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the founding directors to define and implement strategic marketing and business development plans.
- Identify new business opportunities in both existing and emerging sectors.
- Lead and manage high-level marketing initiatives to strengthen the studio’s brand positioning and visibility.
- Develop tailored BD strategies to target potential clients and win new work, including pitches and presentations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and collaborators.
- Provide leadership and direction to a small marketing/BD team, setting clear goals and ensuring high-quality output.
- Track, analyse, and report on the effectiveness of marketing and BD activities, refining strategies as needed.
Key Skills/Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a similar role in the architecture/engineering/built environment space.
- Strategic and commercially minded.
- Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Organised and proactive approach.
- Strong industry knowledge.
