We are looking for a talented and driven Senior Sous Chef to join the team at The Cricketers on the Green, our newly reopened pub in the heart of Pirbright. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Sous Chef or experienced Junior Sous Chef who wants to be part of an ambitious, independent pub company with a real focus on fresh food, quality ingredients and genuine hospitality.
You will work closely with the Head Chef to help lead the kitchen, deliver consistently excellent food, support and train the team, and keep standards high across every service.
The RoleYou will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day to day running of the kitchen
- Leading service and running the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
- Helping with prep, ordering, stock control and waste management
- Supporting food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance
- Training and motivating junior chefs
- Working closely with front of house to deliver a smooth guest experience
- Bringing energy, organisation and pride to every service
You will need:
- Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
- A background in fresh food pubs, restaurants or hotels
- Strong cooking skills and confidence across sections
- The ability to lead a team calmly under pressure
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen organisation
- A positive, reliable and hands on attitude
- Pride in great food, clean kitchens and consistent standards
