We are looking for a friendly, confident and reliable Bartender to join the team at The Cricketers on the Green in Pirbright. The Cricketers on the green is a beautiful food-led country pub, focused on warm hospitality, great drinks, seasonal food and attention to detail. We are looking for someone who enjoys looking after guests, takes pride in a well-run bar, and understands that the little details make the large difference.

About the role

As Bartender, you will be part of the front of house team, helping to create a warm and professional guest experience from the moment someone walks through the door. You will serve drinks, support the floor team, keep the bar clean and organised, and help make sure every guest feels welcome and well looked after.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve drinks to the agreed company and site standards.
  • Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
  • Keep the bar clean, stocked and organised throughout service.
  • Support with wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks and hot drinks.
  • Make sure guests are served efficiently, accurately and with care.
  • Maintain excellent product knowledge and continue learning about the drinks list.
  • Follow all licensing, Challenge 25, health and safety and company procedures.
  • Handle payments correctly through the till system.
  • Support the floor team when needed, including running drinks and clearing tables.
  • Restock fridges, garnishes, glassware and bar supplies.
  • Check dates, rotate stock and help reduce waste.
  • Help create a positive, calm and professional atmosphere for guests and the team.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous bar or hospitality experience is helpful, but the right attitude is most important.
  • A warm, confident and friendly personality.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stay calm and organised during busy services.
  • Interest in drinks, wine, beer, cocktails and great hospitality.
