The Role

As a Groundsperson, you will be responsible for ensuring the crematorium grounds, gardens and memorial areas are maintained to a high standard. You will work as part of a team to deliver exceptional care and presentation across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out seasonal gardening and landscaping, including mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, and hedge cutting.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of paths, lawns, memorial plots and landscaped areas.
  • Conduct routine checks and light maintenance of grounds equipment.
  • Support with leaf clearance, snow and ice control, and seasonal planting displays.
  • Maintain memorial areas with care and attention to detail.
  • Assist families with basic memorial enquiries when required.
  • Work collaboratively with the site team, supporting other duties when needed.
  • Follow health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment.

About You

  • Has experience in groundskeeping, horticulture or outdoor maintenance.
  • Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Takes pride in maintaining a clean and well‑presented environment.
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively.
  • Understands the sensitivity of working in a memorial setting.
  • Has a driving license (desirable).
