Cluster Manager in Epsom

Epsom Full-Time On-site
T

Position: Cluster Manager

Location: South West London. You’ll cover around 15 funeral homes and our Portsmouth Road Care Centre across Kingston, Wimbledon, Morden, Epsom and Hampton Hill, with regular travel between sites.

Job Type: Full-Time, 38.33 hours per week

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000

Be there when families need you most, and lead the teams who make it happen

As Cluster Manager, you’ll lead our South West London funeral homes: around 15 branches stretching from Teddington, Hampton Hill and Molesey through Kingston, Surbiton, Wimbledon and Sutton to Epsom, Walton-on-Thames and Addlestone, plus our Portsmouth Road Care Centre, carrying out around 1,200 funerals a year. Reporting to the Head of Region for South London, you’ll lead the Funeral Directors and Senior Funeral Directors across the cluster, and through them every colleague in your branches. You’ll be the person who drives the business forward across the whole cluster, with a warm, welcoming way of leading that brings your teams with you.

The role at a glance

  • 1 care centre
  • 5 local business groups
  • around 1,200 funerals a year

Your patch brings together trusted local names that have served their communities for generations, including Frederick W Paine, Ashton Maxwell, F.W. Chitty, Longhurst of Epsom and Walter G. Wortt.

When someone dies, families need to know they can rely on us completely. Your job is to make sure every team delivers that, every day, while building strong, successful local businesses.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop your teams, through recruitment, coaching, 1:1s and appraisals, with a clear focus on performance
  • Oversee and manage multiple sites, giving every branch and the care centre the same visible, hands‑on leadership
  • Drive operational excellence, owning care, compliance and presentation standards, and keeping every branch audit‑ready
  • Grow market share and brand awareness, with your own local marketing plan
  • Oversee community engagement across the cluster, making sure our teams are known, trusted and present in the places they serve
  • Drive the business forward, owning the cluster P&L, revenue, cost and funeral plan targets
  • Set the standard for professionalism, empathy and integrity

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience managing and overseeing multiple sites or branches in a customer‑facing, service‑led environment
  • Strong team management experience, including leading other managers, not just front‑line teams
  • Confidence managing performance and keeping teams focused on results
  • P&L experience and a track record of hitting revenue, cost and sales targets
  • An understanding of how to build brand awareness and a strong local presence
  • A warm, welcoming attitude, with the confidence to lead your teams well and manage the cluster firmly when you need to
  • A good understanding of operational and regulatory standards
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for regional travel, plus flexibility to work some evenings, weekends and on‑call

Funeral industry experience is welcome but not essential. If you’ve led multi‑site teams in another service‑led sector, we’d love to hear from you. Experience in a regulated, care‑led sector, funeral plan sales, or an ILM or CMI qualification would also be a bonus. You’ll find full details in the job description.

Leading from the front with the support and benefits to succeed
