We are looking for an entrepreneurial Nursery Manager to launch and develop our brand new business– The Crèche. This is a unique opportunity to build a flagship nursery from the ground up. You’ll hire your own team, instill our unique culture, and introduce Godalming families to a new and flexible, pay-as-you-go childcare solution. We’re a small, family-run business who prioritise our staff and our children in equal measure. Our mission is to be the highest quality and most flexible childcare provider in the UK (starting with our flagship site in the heart of Godalming). We are open Mon‑Fri, 8am – 6pm.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the development and well‑being of all children in our care in the absence of the Nursery Manager. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Nursery Practitioner, current 3rd In Charge or Deputy looking to step up their career. Qualifications:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification with deep EYFS and Ofsted knowledge.
  • At least 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with a strong background in supervisory and leadership roles.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with staff, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Leadership experience, with a passion for developing teams and promoting continuous professional growth.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times.
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met throughout the nursery.
  • Assist in managing the acceptance and administration of medication and ensure care plans are thorough and up to date for children or staff with health conditions.
  • Ensure that all children receive stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Promote respect and credibility for this position through effective communication skills, impartiality, and consistency.
  • Inspire staff team with creative ideas and new challenges with aim to achieve outstanding practice.
  • Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.
