Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced Principal Video Capture Artist to join our Survival team based at our studio in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex to work on creating unforgettable experiences to help drive resonance and growth through engaging brand campaign assets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with development and brand teams to develop and create memorable and compelling video content for campaigns. This role will help realize the brand and game’s creative vision through different means of storytelling across player touchpoints, but also provide strategic input to help our titles stand out in the market.

The ideal candidate thinks strategically and creatively while also having a deep understanding of the video game trailer and content pipeline. They maintain a player-first mindset with a deep understanding of the game and think how it can be showcased in new and innovative ways to connect with players. They have a collaborative spirit with a solution-oriented mindset. The role is for 12 months FTC.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with Brand and Creative directors to translate both product goals and game vision into emotionally evoking and memorable trailers while also providing strategic and creative input into how that is executed and realized.
  • Capture high-quality gameplay footage and screenshots using in-game tools and external hardware/software for multiple promotional platforms.
  • Work closely with the development team to understand pipelines, schedules and milestones for planning and prioritization for asset development.
  • Craft edits using gameplay, in-game cinematics and motion graphics that tell a compelling story and capture key features being messaged.
  • Support brand and product marketing teams as needed for general content capture that will be used to create community and social assets, screenshots and other content.
  • Monitor competitors and industry trends within endemic and non-endemic media.
  • Resource planning and identify areas in the asset production roadmap that will require outsource support and managing external partners.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • A portfolio that demonstrates proven expertise and capabilities in creating gameplay trailers, brand and marketing content.
  • Experience working in Unreal 5.
  • Expert knowledge in industry standard software such as Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.
  • Proactive and self-starter mindset that is comfortable with adapting to changing circumstances and ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal accompanied by an ability to anticipate audience needs.
  • Strong critical thinking and practice of discernment to solve problems and use foresight.
  • Is curious with a strong desire to continue to learn with a growth mindset.

Desirable

  • One or more shipped AAA projects.
  • Experience working within a game development team.
  • Passion for games.
